Yeah definitely looking forward to seeing how this one benches against the upcoming 4GB VRAM 680s... now that all of them support 3 monitors hopefully multimonitor gaming will be a regular part of reviews and better supported in upcoming games... finally.

Does anyone have a track file for DCS-A10C for benchmarking?

edit:

Stressful track file, I meant...

Moreover it would allow 1-to-1 comparison to a couple years of on-line GPU test results that used Heaven 2.5 benchmark at default settings. Heaven 3.0 seems identical to 2.5 but with more options and different default settings (which is why I requested 2.5 defaults even if using 3.0).

The main numbers to report would be the score and average FPS (minimum FPS would be important, but Heaven does not calculate that in a meaningful way).

Thanks for considering it.

Also, how much did it cost -- pricing rumors varied from $500 to $560 (can't find it on Newegg, yet -- came and went).

Will do. It was 509 for the card and 25 for overnight shipping. Should arrive tomorrow.

So, here are the results:

Stock EVGA GTX 680
i7-920 Overclocked to 3.6 GHz
Windows 7 64
6 Gigs (3 x 2Gb) RAM

2560 x 1600

56.5 fps Average
1422 Score
10.5 (!!!) FPS Min
129 FPS Max

1920 x 1200

86.1 fps Average
2168 Score
36.1 FPS min
186.4 FPS Max.

A-10C version 1.1.1

2560x1600
Maximum Settings
VSYNC ON (60 Hz)

Never drops below 60 FPS

edit:

I haven't tried too many games with it. Overall, it feels a lot snappier at 2560 x 1600 than my old GTX 480. If I had to hazard a guess, it appears to be about 2.5 faster than the GTX480 at 2560x1600 in most games.

Thanks. Things are falling into place smile

I think you will not have any problems with any not-CPU-dependent games (probably none with CPU dependent games smile ). I would not be surprised if it is twice as fast as the 480. That's what's so good about GTX680 and HD7970 -- both are virtually twice as fast as cards that needed SLI or CrossFire to run 3 monitors. So, in principle, one card can do 3 monitors well.

Probably, most games won't stress that card (on a single monitor) until Microsoft and Sony release their new consoles and games are developed for them (to be ported to the PC). Those games will not be available for 3 years or so. Moreover, its probably 3 years before the 22nm process comes on line (given all the issues with 28nm). So, a GTX680 or HD7970 bought now may last longer than cards have in the past, I speculate -- which is why I'm willing to consider a $500 purchase smile

EVGA announced their GTX 680, and it is available to me for a product upgrade from the *brand new* GTX 580 that I bought three weeks ago. The 680 is a few dollars less so I may even get money back.

It looks like the EVGA product has a single part number at this time and the card is 10" long so it will fit into my mid-tower Storm Sniper case.
