I think the trend is vomiting in comedy.
Whatever the type of comedy, they put it in. Other than that, it's not uncommon in a crime drama for a cop (or other person) to come upon a particularly gross dead body and vomit. In The River last week they found a freezer filled with long-dead corpses brimming with flies and while the doctor was the only one who could go in the room (to search for a particular body) he DID vomit after he came out. It wasn't played for laughs of course.
So anyway, my advice is: stop watching comedies. Watch dramas, SF, whatever, and you'll see a lot less GI distress on screen.
