Wow SHar82 looking great!

I guess it is time for me to pick it up then, I avoid early betas so that I don't get bad first impressions with games, but it seems like it is in pretty nice shape already, so I'll check it out. Thanks for the info fellas.

3- I haven't found the answer on their website, but once the game is bought, will there have monthly fees?

1. More (At least that's the plan it looks like).
2. It's possible, but I have a tough time.
3. Not that I know of. Also, I think those who sign up for the new purchase option get the game for free on release.

Hope this helps!

With regards to the R18 pics posted, one thing I noticed that is missing is the "fin" connecting the cockpit to the tail needs a little downward rake. On the real car, the "fin" is not straight across.

Okay, I'm sold. It's my next game purchase. Can't wait 'til we can get online.

IMPORTANT: To all the one who want to join, be quick, there is big change at the moment at SMS, from what I heard today, A big player is paying for the last 2 millions of the development program for pCARS, which means SMS won't need any more junior and simple team members: in few days/weeks, entry level (10$ try) and team members will be removed and the game will pass closed beta for FULL TEAM MEMBERS and UP ONLY which means if you don't join know, you will have to wait until the game is done before to play it!

I joined up last night with the 25Euro one and had a quick go, the graphics look awesome and the track selection and car selection is really impressive for a beta, and there was no steering latency but the Fanatec FFB still seems to need work, there is a update coming with a new Fanatec wheel driver code which will hopefully sort that out.

I did that quick workaround of uninstalling the Fanatec driver and using the Logitech driver using the Fanatec in PS3 mode and detected as a G25 and felt much better FFB with good details on bumps slides etc, so I am definitely encouraged that they will make the FFB much better soon for Fanatec as well.

Anyhow very impressed with what they have at this point and looking forward to seeing this develop, especially after I saw the confirmed planned tracklist which includes the Nordschleife :-)

Like I said:

Important for the " maybe later" crowd:

Quote:
Back in October 2011, Slightly Mad Studios launched World of Mass Development, a unique portal to fund their upcoming Project CARS title that enables gamers to follow and influence the development of a AAA title from the very beginning.

The concept has been a huge success as almost half a million Euros have been pitched in by members so far, allowing the studio to create a racing simulation based on the community’s wishes and ideals without pressure from a publisher. In return for their financial commitment, members don’t just get to follow the development and try regular development versions but they’ll also get a share of the title’s financial return as well.

There are some significant changes in store though as Slightly Mad Studios will most likely see a big change in company structure during the coming weeks, the studio will be becoming part of something much bigger if everything goes according to plan.

This development will have a very positive effect on Project CARS as it will most likely ensure the full funding needed to complete the development. On the other hand, this will likely result in WMD tool pack signups for Project CARS to be shut down.

What does this mean? Starting from this point that will happen sometime in the next 2-3 weeks, WMD won’t be accepting any new members for the remaining course of the title’s development. So if you want to be part of Project CARS, now’s the time to join WMD or upgrade to a higher tool pack.

The new scenario won’t mean that the original WMD concept is altered though, all existing members stay on board and keep their rights and benefits, the community will just be closed off as additional funding won’t be needed anymore.

Project CARS is still many months away from being released and if you want to be part of the title’s development and enjoy regular development builds, now’s the time to act and join – Otherwise your next chance to enjoy Project CARS will be when it hits the shelves in 2013.

Membership on Project CARS starts at a one-time payment of 10€ for the Junior tool pack, followed by 25€ for Team Member status and 50€ for Full membership. New users can register here, more info on the different membership levels and their benefits can be found here.

Is that track from the vid an Imola Copy?

I hope the "big player" buying in does not mean the direction of the game will suffer. I would think they will have 51% of all votes?
