One thing that worries me is the lack of content. It seems Flight might loose steam due to lack of new planes and maps. Besides, TrackIR,ATC, AI or at least traffic on the roads is a must if Flight wants to survive.

Let's see what happens...

Might lose steam? It's already lost steam. AI, ATC, TrackIR etc. were never the plan. But the biggest problem is the inability to take off from Hawaii or anyplace else in the world and fly to Costa Rica or Japan or Denmark or Kansas City, Kansas. That's a bigger problem, to me, than lack of ATC or TrackIR.

Flight is done.

Agree with what others say, restating the same opinion over and over doesn't add new facts to the discussion or make it more true...

And while I'm not Flight's biggest fan (I enjoy it for what it is when not flying FSX), but it has been out for 3 weeks, don't you think it seems a bit premature to say "it is out of steam" or "done" because no new enhancements or DLC has come out since release to match our requests for features?

Even 2 years after release FSX was still sitting on my shelf and all but unplayable on the current hardware, little did I know the terrific add-ons and things that later opened up the FSX world I now enjoy....

Maybe once we are past the shock that it isn't FS11 or maybe even a "hardcore civil flight sim" we can give it a chance and see what comes of it with time.

Flight has made me reinstall FSX smile

Initially I disliked Flight, but It's a great 15 minute time killer. It feels like stunt Island for me, if anyone remembers that gem.

I think Flight will get better, if MS gives it a chance.

I could say almost the same thing joe_stallin, although I never disliked flight. I've only played it with a joypad so far.

I'll be more interested if they add TrackIR support, but FSX, has a lot going for it, and I think X-plane will become the go to platform for third party developers within a year or two.

I disagree. You posited a false equivalence. The third party add-ons that were released following FSX were BONUS treats. FSX came with a complete world to fly in, tons of missions, ATC, AI, airports the world over, traffic on land, sea and air, a whole hangar of flyable planes of every stripe, in other words a complete sim. That is a huge difference from Flight which is a tiny sliver of what some THINK is a much larger more complete game coming. FSX was the whole pie. The third-party developers just added the icing. Flight is a tiny sliver, not even a forkful, so we're asked to wait for a complete pie from the original developer. Huge difference.

At the rate of a handful of aircraft and sceneries a year, I'm not very optimistic. Wha

Yup. Agreed. If we knew the rest of the world would be made available within the next three months, I would agree with the glass half full crowd. But that's not going to happen. At the rate they are going it will be several years before we have the entire planet, much less all the other stuff that's missing that would make FLIGHT attractive to FSX simmers. And making Flight attractive to FSX simmers is the ONLY way it will succeed. Twitch pad gamers, the short attention span crowd, are not going to go for a civilian flight sim/game. Period.
