Umm...I don't think it's been mentioned yet, unless there was a vague hint at CDC...I don't think any of the people on the show have any idea how it started. It seemed to have spiraled out of control very fast.

If they are following the book in that respect (source of zombies), I am current as of the 90th comic and it has still not been explained.

They just mentioned being like a virus or something, but not where it came from. I bet they don't cover it, part of what's cool about it is the ignorance of "what's going on and why" on the part of the survivors.

Shawn of the Dead and Zombieland thumbsup. But this is just like jumping into Left for Dead with no story just shooting and running.

I enjoy watching the show but always find it odd when they call them 'walkers'. They are ZOMBIES, so call them ZOMBIES.

In-fact, have they ever even said the Z-word on the show? It's not copyrighted is it? smile

In the after-show "the talking dead" they mentioned how it's set in a world that doesn't have knowledge of zombies, as in movies etc, which is why they call them walkers. The writer said that in the graphic novel series they sometimes slip with mentioning "zombie" but they prefer not to say it.

Ah - thanks for that. I guess as long as they are internally consistent then it makes sense.

Another great episode!
Dwaye continues to become the best and most likable character. Rick's wife more and more the least likable. Next week's episode looks like it's going to be HUGE!
Wonder if Merle has the girl?

Go Glen! Get some! LOL

Actually, ever since started by Romero, part of the Zombie mythos is that the word "zombie" is never used to describe the zombies.

I find the characters less likeable in this series and especially Dale, he's a real know-it-all that thinks he's in charge. I just wouldn't have anyone telling me whether I could have a weapon or not.
