In a flash I can have my S&W MP9 with four 17 round magazines ready for any kind of double tap (I'm prepared for zombies already!). If I have more time and run out of 9mm I can grab my wife's Rossi .38 special. If I have a little time then it's AR-15 .223, four 20 round mags...lock and load! In a bind I still have my Marlin .22 semi-auto above my garage door for critters...trespassers count as critters in my book.

Kimber 1911 or Mossy 500. Either way, intruder is a doorstop.

I tell the wife to call the police while I get the kids into the master bedroom with me and the wife. Then I push the bed in front of the mbrm door and we wait for the cops to arrive.

No wonder guns laws are so strict in chicago. No common sense.
Glock 36 on night stand. Remington 870 upstairs. common sense! something you know nothing about! LOL Did you see the local papers? 10 shooting victims and another 50 wounded by gunfire over the past weekend. If you live here, you need to be armed to the teeth! and our stupid local governemtn won't let peaceful, law-abiding citizens carry firearms to protect themselves in this warzone (or at least give us the "stand your ground - no need to backdown and run away" law like the one in Florida)! shameful! http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-...est-rogers-park

What gun do you reach for to defend your family? Hmm, that sure narrows down the options, doesn't it?

Robinson arms XCR or a Ruger 10/22. Where I am right now probably the 10/22 for two reasons:
(1) I'm in a condo, and I wouldn't want to have a round hit someone in another unit (2) In canada centerfire rifles are restricted to 5 round magazines (I have 10 rnd pistol mags for the XCR in .223). There is no limit for rimfire mags, and I have 25 round mags which feed my 10/22 reliably.
The word "Martyr" is just a fancy name for "crappy fighter".

As the saying goes "your home is your castle". So, as anyone knows, if the castle walls are breached the castle will most certainly fall.
True safety comes by assuring that your home is not easily intruded upon.
If the assailant has already entered the house, then you have already failed, gun or no gun.
Sounds like the rationale behind the Maginot Line. Back to the original question... Mossberg.
