I had to pre-order my Obutto cockpit since Performance PC was out of stock, but according to the tracking information, the ship from China after a stop in Korea should be entering the port in Seattle today! Hopefully within a week or two I should have it! 30 March is the ETA. After reading many reviews in the Article Feedback Forum here, and talking to Stewart and Doug about theirs, I'm hoping this will help my back during long races and offer a more stable platform for my wheel and pedals. My current chair is about 8 years old and has a slight lean to the right. Most of the padding is flat and I have an airline sheepskin seat cushion to help out. I also have a lumbar support thing strapped on, but it only helps a little. After about two hours of racing I can barely stand up. My desk is pretty cheap and wobbly when I get in the heat of racing. I can't wait for my pit!

I'm sure you will like it. Just having a stable platform that doesn't move is a plus. The seat, well I could sleep in it.

So, sitting in a kitchen chair with a couch cushion behind me isn't the way to go?

SWEET! Got my Obutto cockpit Thursday and had it set up in a couple of hours, and was trying out some racing within three hours. Man this is great! The wife doesn't quite like where it is currently so after some room rearranging Saturday I'll get pics of the final resting area for it. At 110lbs I had to take the old farm truck to town to pick it up, and luckily a guy at the FedEx office helped me load it. At home I was alone, but I have a two wheeled hand cart and getting it upstairs wasn't too difficult. I think unwrapping the bubble wrap took longer than putting the dang thing together...heh. It does work as a normal computer desk, but I have to do some work to get it configured for regular desk vs race pit. My swinging keyboard tray doesn't quite clear my Momo that I keep permanently installed so I have to remove the keyboard tray and swing everything around the Momo. As far as a race pit, I'm 6'4 and 200lbs and it fits perfectly. So many adjustments for personal preferences, and the seat just feels right. It's very stable so I'm no longer afraid to really get into my wheel turns. My old desk wobbled so much that my TrackIr would nearly fall off of my monitor. I have a 22" wide screen HP LED monitor so it looks pretty good, although it's closer than I'm used to...I'll get used to it. Already, for those of you who do the same racing that I do, I ran a 1:22 at Adelaide in my LMP which is about 4 seconds faster than I was doing. It could be that I'm getting used to the track and car, but I think the pit helps. I also trimmed a second or two off of my Lotus Exige at Silverstone for the Frank Baird Memorial Race coming up Saturday.

Seriously Weasy, awesome news and i'm glad you're happy with it. People often neglect their racing 'environment' but as you've seen it can make a massive difference to your enjoyment, and also performance. Cant wait to see the pictures.

LMAO! The Obutto is impressive but Weasy you are a legend. Fully kitted out with overalls, helmet, gloves, boots, bottle of beer and Marlbro is just plain epic. Please tell me that's really how you run our races!
