Hi all

I'm still on the 2010 version as I don't wanted to give Codies more of my money for just some bugfixes in 2011... And something weird happened tonight about which I've got a question someone here might be able to confirm.

I had been after some month's absence trying to get back into the game with a race at Sakhir, driving as F.Massa (GP Mode), and had a devil of a time even to beat the slowest AI. I kind of gave up again and went back to other games.

Now today, without any recent practice, I restarted the season as J.Button and suddenly found myself beating the AI (even Vettel) by almost 1 second in qualifying, instant pole position on the same difficulty settings as the Ferrari back some weeks. I actually was able to up the AI difficulty from Intermediate to Professional and still qualify 5th for the race (which seems realistic for a McLaren on such a curvy track).

I understand that Codies supposedly gave each car some individual behaviour, so possibly the McLaren MP24 is simple easier to drive than the Ferrari? I'm definitly losing my rear much less under braking.

Anyone else overserved within this game which of the top three manufacturer's is "easiest to drive with"? Or is it a matter of personal style?

regards

RS

From what I remember of 2010, the McLaren or Redbull were the fastest cars. The McLaren had a slight edge in top speed, but the Redbull seemed to be better through the twisty sections.

As for "ease of driving", it probably comes down more to driving style...the McLaren IIRC seems to respond better to smoother driving through the corners, while you can wring out the RB5 a bit more and not lose as much pace, especially through corners. The Fez is just a bit off those two, but not by much and needs to be driven with smoother lines.

There's a pretty clear distinction between those 3 and the rest of the field, for sure.

I am still using 2010 with J.Button and having fun with it.

So, finished a short race today (10 laps) against PRO AI and I really have to say - for whatever obscure reason - I have a much easier time than with the Ferrari.

I actually went back and checked that the AntiLockBrakes are not enabled since it felt like it - but my settings are at most realistic and still the McLaren simple drives so much easier.

Not a bad game in the end, if a bit let down by the lack of that much needed second patch.
