When the Pileated Woodpeckers took off a few moments later I couldn't get a shot of them in the air, but it was an impressive sight as they look almost too large to fly between the tree trunks.
In the middle of shooting the Red Bellied Woodpecker pair, I had three large deer came bounding up behind me, and by the time I realized they were there, they were gone from sight down the hill.
There was also another pair of birds in the area that were either red headed, or downy woodpeckers, but they never came close enough for a shot.
