Unlike, say, the latest automotive craze, this model is a working hybrid.

I started with the left half of the fuselage from the lo-res model, re-worked it to get a good rendering sequence, re-mapped it and then mirrored it with one of Jel's handy 3dz editors. I then joined the two halves together with another one of his editors to make a complete fuselage.

I next added the gun turret from the lo-res version.

Lastly, I reshaped the wings from the hi-res Beaufighter and finally, I joined all the pieces together using the "empty" F.3dz from the new hi-res B-26.

I also found a hi-res desert B-25 which I can probably use right out of the box:

Oh and I also touched up the lo-res Ju52:

Yes, Fran, I rounded off the wheels and re-scaled them.

Made all the engine nacels rounder too.

To be honest, the Ju-52 wasn't in too bad a shape. Especially compared to some of the other models I worked on.

John,

Not sure what you mean. Was there a FB Blenheim?

Hi Ray,

Nice Desert Blenheim MkI, which should be useful in DAW up to say mid 1941, particularly if you can also do the Mk IF with the 4 x 0.303mg in an underbelly fairing which came in 2 types, paired or equally spaced guns (and of course the nightfighter version with the arrowhead AI radar aerial on the nose). After that date you really need to look at a nose change to make the MkIV/IVF, but I am not sure I would bother with the later MkV Bisley as the nose profile is even worse than the MkIV, although it would be good if you could. Note, early Blenheims had either 1 x Vickers "K" or 1 x Lewis 0.303 in the ventral turret, whilst later MkIV and all MkV had twin Browning 0.303 not to mention 2 different under nose rearwards pointing gun mounts on the bombers - a single 0.303 in a clear housing like the Beaufort or a solid metal fairing with 2 0.303 If you want any pics/drawings let me know. I am of course assuming we have FM to go with all the various models.

Keep up the good work, it is really appreciated, and yes, I suppose this is a "nudge" as I am very interested in the "new" DAW.

Pete
