Glad my $240 560Ti/448 will tide me over until they quit stalling and/or ATI comes out with the reaction, I want the real deal on performance if we're paying those kind of prices...
How did you get a 448 core for $240? They just NOW are going for $249 after mail-in rebate. Also I read it is highly overclockable but not quite 580 specs.. Did you just happen to get lucky on both accounts?

I picked up this a few weeks ago for $269 plus $30 MIR (it was $299 - $20 off - $10 off HardOCP code - $30 MIR) so net $239 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127615 This particular MSI 560Ti/448 comes with a great air cooler and is a great overclocker, and overclocked it benches faster than a 570 and close to a 580: http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/gpu_displays/msi_gtx560ti_448_-_overclock_part_2/8 My overclock success is good but not unusually lucky for this particular MSI model, many others with my same card have had similar results and some have even modded it with an H60 or Antec liquid Kuhler 620 and run it at > 1GHZ as seen in the following thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1180276/gtx-560-ti-448-core-oc-club/0_50 Overall it is a great bang for the buck, I think a 580 is still better overall for smoothness (448 vs 512 shaders, 320bit vs 384bit Memory Bus Width) but this card costs half of the price of a 580 and runs really cool even overclocked (33c idle 67c peak) so is just what I needed to wait out the Kepler fiasco, if it wasn't for the relatively small 1280MB VRAM I would pickup another one for SLI 3 monitor and skip Kepler altogether. Sorry for being offtopic but figured since you asked, at least it just highlights how much performance you can get for less than half the $550 inflated prices. As always with overclocking YMMV :-) PS. I also saw that there's GTX 480s on sale for $210 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as..._-14130759-L02C Which is another good bang for the buck but with much worse power and heat, all this makes a halfass 680 for $550 look really expensive IMHO

i thought nVidia dropped apple over the IPad 3 A5X being faster then Tegra III claims.
and if its true why not use their own Chips. the A5X has more power than an Xbox 360.

Expect GTX680 to sell out real fast, they rumor. "...If you are after GTX 680, our advice is to look for one at launch day, scheduled for March 23 and immediately buy one. Otherwise you will probably end up waiting..."

Low yields and Tech issues will do that to a shipping inventory

Has anyone seen any official specs yet that weren't leaks?
Supposedly one week from launch and still haven't seen anything official, wanting to confirm whether they missed 3 monitor support again.

nope, and the few leaked shots Toms linked to their article all were branded "570ti" on the heat shroud.

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Nvidia-Kepler-GeForce-GTX680-gpu,15012.html#xtor=RSS-998 The GTX 680 features clock speeds of 1006 MHz (base), and 1058 MHz (boost). The memory is clocked at 6 GHz (1500 MHz actual), and 2 GB GDDR5 memory running across a 256-bit wide interface. As we know, the GK104 will feature 1536 Stream Processors, 128 TMUs, and 32 ROPs. As with the AMD Radeon 7000 series cards, the GeForce GTX 680 will be based on a PCIe 3.0 bus interface with support for DX11.1, Quad Way SLI and display outputs of two DL-DVI, a HDMI and Display port 1.2. The card will utilize two 6-pin PCIe power connectors and has a TDP of 195W.

Good link Rumor a month or so back was that the 104 chip would overpower HD7970 in certain DX11 titles -- based on official Nvidia data. The rumored warning was that it would fall on its face in other non-DX11 titles. In the linked data we can see the overpowering in some DX11 and edging in others. Great for a mid-range card. Now, we must wait for test reports to see if the warning half of the rumor is true.
