This is most definately a keeper.

Finally at long last I have a flight simulator on my console, it doesn't feel arcade or dumbed down - I'm sure a flight model expert will find things to scoff at but this is as good a sim experience as I remember having on the PC, and I'm not flying on full simulation difficutly either purely because I amd getting used to the Xbox controller, which I might add does a very respectable job indeed of a control yoke.

There are a few things which could benefit from a patch but all in all I'm blown away and pleased that comeone has made a console version of the IL2 series that actually works.

My only gripe is the fact that aircraft are 'locked' untill you earn enough currency to buy them, which means spending hours in the dynamic campaign and online to earn the necessary warpoints - a little annoying when you have been accustomed to simulators where you have a wide range of aircraft available to fly from the beginning.

All in all though, very impressed.

Just bought myself a Thrustmaster Hotas X... not the greatest joystick in the world, but it works like a charm in this game, and is much better to score kills! Really enjoy this game, easy to find sim/realistic sessions online for a ton of fun, especially in SIM where you really have to look carefully to get some targets and close your prey to not kill a friend... So much quick fun without to go arcade!
