...any recommendations? Can be space or first person battle, third person barely okay...

I know the last one that got semi decent ratings was Force Unleashed, but at 25GB it would kill my harddrive. FU2 got mixed reviews - can anyone say how large that install size is?

Or should I go for Battlefronts 2? But that looks really dated these days.

Empire at War is a good SW RTS game and is quite cheap now. The Jedi Knight games are still good too and work on W7.

EH...How do you feel about MMO's? The Old Republic is a blast! IMO the best new Star Wars title available.

Battlefront 2 is a bit dated, but if you liked Battlefield 42/Vietnam/2 it plays like that with the addition of "heroes". These are usually Jedi/Sith, but sometimes a bounty hunter, that are very powerful but require you to keep getting kills to keep as their health continually drains and kills recharge it. It also has separate ground and space maps, the space maps also having the ability to get out of the ships in cap ship hangars, but you can spend the whole time fighting in space if you want.

I thought Force Unleashed was decent. It is surprisingly large, yes, considering it fit on a single DVD for the 360 version, but I guess that was for upscaled textures. It also includes the DLC the 360 got later.
I have FU2 but haven't tried it yet, haven't had time.

Of course, I have all the Jedi Knight games starting with Dark Forces thru Jedi Academy for that SW FPS itch. If you missed the standalone expansion for JK:DF2 called Mysteries of the Sith, I recommend it, even though it's VERY dated now!

The only SW game I'm currently playing is Empire at War but I highly recommend it. The ground combat is fun but the space combat is really where the game shines.

Right, of course that's an RTS. Previous ones being the much-maligned Force Cmdr and my favorite Age of Empires mod-billed-as-full-game, SW Battlegrounds from 2001.

KOTOR 1 and 2 are the great RPGs.

Oh, and although it's hardly "serious", Lego Star Wars is great. Fun and challenging and humorous, but only if that sort of gameplay appeals to you.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

MMO or online is not my thing. Empire at War looks good - not too dated, small install footprint, interesting gameplay. I don't have so many RTS anyway and this will fit nicely.

Shame they never bothered to release a current X-Wing Space Combat title.

IMO:
#1 Empire at War Gold
#2 SW KOTOR 1 (2 wasn't complete and not nearly as good) The storyline would make a good movie to boot.
#3 SW Battlefront 2

There are also some graphical improvement mods out there to spruce up EaW a little bit. It's a lot of fun regardless, especially with the cinematic button to watch the action.

(that's before the mods)

I've had all of those going recently, but BF2 is an Xbox game in my case. Still, it looks pretty good, not too dated and the big battles are a lot of fun. It includes space battles, all the vehicles that are fun from any of the movie eras.

I also was disappointed Battlefront stopped at BF2 for the PC. They released a few more for the PSP only??!? I got a couple of them. There were a couple other console or PSP-only titles for SW that I didn't bother mentioning.
