When Phase4 is released, will installation be from a purchased disc, or will it be downloaded content with the original CFS disc required?
Sorry if this has been asked before, but OFF is a new beast to me and I want to buy Phase4 when it is released.

We haven't decided on the final format - but we hope to have it downloadable. You will require CFS3, as with the current version.

Thanks for the reply.. now, will any CFS3 disc I purchase enable me to install phase4?
Also, will I have to spend many hours having to update the original disc beforehand before it will accept phase4?

Yes any CFS3 will work.

Only old CFS3 disks need to be updated, most released in the last few years are already v3.1.
So most people will just need to pop the disk in briefly during install of OFF.


(Even if you did need to install CFS3 and patch it's just a few minutes not hours of course - or you could get hold of a newer CFS3 disk for around $10 if that annoys you).

Phase 4 installer has not been made yet but is likely to be just the same as in our FAQ on our website for Phase 3. Check near the top.

Will the disc need to remain in the drive during play, or is verifying you have one during install good enough?

As above it will likely be the same as P3.
Basically if you need it to play CFS3 then yes, or if you don't need it with your version then no.
