Thanks good link, so it does indeed looks like it may support 3 monitors with that list of ports, also that chart seems to show some pretty big gains against 7970 in games like Battlefield3... can't wait until some sites bench it overclocked versus overclocked 7970 and with a full suite of games, not just the ones they cherry picked.

FXAA is Fast. Which is why BF3 jumps ahead. and why all those games jump ahead, lets see the charts for games without FXAA Enabled. Notice all the 7970s are capped at the same max for all the games they've tested.

The GPU isnt 3x as Powerful as a GTX 580, the Anti-Aliasing Instructions are just 3x faster.

it took 3-Way SLI 580s to run the Samaritan Demo last year,

This year it took 1 kepler card. Which is a misleading statement without an explanation

The Samaritan Demo ran fine last year on 1 GTX 580, with AA Turned OFF.

This year they are running the 6xx Kepler with FXAA instead of the old AA Engine.

There are also articles explaining how much faster FXAA is over say MSAA

Yeah I don't put too much weight into the performance chart since Nvidia could cherry pick the games for it.

Once it is out and in the hands of the tech sites we should be able to see much better the performance measured against the standard games and settings, I'm also especially looking forward to see how 680 and 7970 compare once overclocked, we already know the latter overclocks amazingly well.

3 monitor support without SLI definitely is a big deal from my perspective and gives me new hope for the later 690 with higher VRAM size.

i'd like a driver update for my 7950, been running the same pre-release 12.2 cats, and the release 12.2 doesnt really fix anything.

GTX680 handles 4 displays -- in some fashion.

Leaked unofficial test results.

GTX680 Benchmarks

These are tests that seem "cherry picked" regarding settings. It will be interesting to see a wider variety of benchmarks at typical settings. For example, I don't use AA -- but tests were done at 8xAA -- rumor that Nvidia has a new, fast AA process. So, by bumping up AA, GTX680 gets an advantage (meaningful to folks who want high AA, but meaningless to folks who don't use AA).

Anyhow, I hope this means lower HD7970 prices smile

i tried to explain that to people on another forum,

the claim that "kepler 680 is 3x as powerful as the 580" line that is constantly getting repeated is exaggerated,

because it took THREE 580s to run the Samaritan demo with Max AA (MSAA?) last year and it only took one Kepler this year.

The Samaritan Demo can run fine with AA (MSAA?) on the 580 turned down/off.

the new FXAA is that much faster, Kepler is prolly 20% faster than Fermi.

BTW I could never get that hkepc.com link to finish loading, but found the slides referenced here:
http://www.techpowerup.com/162498/GTX-680-Generally-Faster-Than-HD-7970-New-Benchmarks.html

Now that I see it, seems like the 680 beats the 7970 a bit but nothing amazing, will be interesting to see head to head overclocked.
