GTX680 in two weeks, it is rumored.

To summarize other rumors I've read: Was GTX670 -- but renamed -- it is rumored. The "real" 680 was rumored to be delayed until late summer or fall. The 670 seemed to be equivalent to HD7970 -- in DX11 games designed for the 670 via Nvidias "The Way Its Meant To Be Played" initiative. So, to give the impression of no delay, the 670 was renamed 680, it is speculated. If true, that means a "stronger" GTX is coming in a few months -- maybe GTX685 (???).

New GTX680 performance and price rumored roughly equivalent to HD7970 -- benchmarks win some, lose some. Often, rumors are "planned leaks" and tend to be favorable. No facts yet. We'll see in a couple weeks. Hope performance is good enough to push down AMD prices.

GTX680 Rumor

Looks like prices going UP UP UP:

Quote:
"...GK104 [was 670Ti renamed to GTX680] is a performance market chip. In the real world Nvidia would be selling this chip for up to $299 and since AMD’s $549 card is scoring close to GK104 based GTX 680 Nvidia went for a $549 price tag..."

Nvidia is selling a $300 GPU for $550 -- not the direction we had in mind.

Weak... Nvidia is 5 months late to the party and all they can do is match the 7970 at the same price with another stall tactic.

580s are already dropping in price down to $415 AR:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...=21-206863941-2

Glad my $240 560Ti/448 will tide me over until they quit stalling and/or ATI comes out with the reaction, I want the real deal on performance if we're paying those kind of prices...

I can't see anyone who is clued in to drop $550 for that 680 at this point, hopefully that will generate at least some price competition.

Yeah same here on my 560Ti overclocked to 580 specs, which would make you think that with lower cards able to handle everything, that there would be some pressure on those $550 prices for top end cards...

The main reason I want to upgrade to a monster card is to be able to run absolutely everything at 6040x1080 with high AA/AF, I'm hoping the real NV 685/790 or ATI 7980 or whatever ATI responds with, will be the uber single card triple monitor solution...

The 7970 overclocked already approaches that but FSX at triple monitor with clouds brings it to it's knees, based on these rumors it looks like I will be holding onto my money until end of year at least.

I totally agree! (assuming that rumour to be correct)

I was hoping for more of a performance boost from a new architecture + die shrink for Kepler. Well, maybe there's still hope if this really is a release of the 104 and not the 110.
