Yesterday I visited a model builders fair in Freiburg, Germany. In the children activity corner were simple models for them to build and I came across this one:

To me, this seems like complete fiction, a crossover between the Ka-52 and the Comanche, but I was wondering whether there's more to it. After all, I only found out about the A-10B after I had the model of it dangling from my lamp.

Crikeys.

Ok its stealth, but the vihkers and rockets are surely going to counter the nice stealth lines it has...

I wonder what the ordinance is they have in the concealed bay ?

According to Wiki, the "Ka-58 Black Ghost" was a fictional helicopter used by the Consortium faction in the video game "Act of War: High Treason."

It definitely has some striking resemblance to the Comanche. Much how the Sukhoi T-50 looks very much like the American F-22. But of course, the T-50 isn't fictional at all. biggrin

The "Comanch-ski" does have a nice ring to it.

I don't really post in here but I saw the title of the topic. Please allow me to offer a bit of further insight into this. I am a big Comanche fan so I know a bit about this helicopter, and others like it, too.

The Ka-58 'Black Ghost' is entirely fictional, but it has caused a lot of both confusion and controversy, as Kamov is said to have given permission to use their name in the design. The whole hype and hysteria has been made worse by the fact that many model websites that stock it describe is as "... the real life Russian stealth ground-attack helicopter."

However, having said that, Kamov are currently experimenting with a design that looks very similar in appearance to the 'Black Ghost'. I can't really tell you much more about it as this concept is not widely known about, very little info about it is available publicly, and the majority of the deeper info I have about it has been given to be in absolute confidence.

To answer the question posted above, the 'Black Ghost' surely would have had Vikhr in the internal weapons bays, just as it has on the stub wings - assuming it uses the same concept as the Comanche, with Hellfire able to be loaded in the bays and on the wings.

See the page about the 'Black Ghost' on my Comanche website, for the limited further info that is available on it, plus more pics...

Since we're slightly off-topic from DCS BS I might as well barge in..

How about this one: Comanche meets Blackhawk.. Used in the operation to capture/kill Bin Laden but crashed.

Any news on this thing? Kinda hard to find info about it right now.. probably because it's considered classified.

Not much to tell about it really, JayPee. It's a modified Sikorsky MH-60 Black Hawk, known unofficially as 'MH-X Silent Hawk' or 'Stealth Black Hawk'. It was one of two specially modified MH-60s used in the raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan on 1 May 2011, was damaged in a hard landing, and was subsequently destroyed by U.S. forces. Later reports state that the Black Hawk destroyed was a previously unconfirmed, but rumored, modification of the design with reduced noise signature and stealth technology. The modifications are said to add several hundred pounds to the base helicopter including edge alignment panels, special coatings and anti-radar treatments for the windshields.

Some douchebags on YouTube were saying it was in fact a Comanche, and that there are some secretly in service.

There probably isn't a huge need for anti-radar treatments. It's more likely that there's a lot of silencing technology, and just some radar return mitigation technology involving rotors. The rest can be dropped right into clutter given the type of flight such helis execute.

I just lifted that text straight from Wikipedia, GrayGhost. With minor modification for cosmetic purposes (the text, not heli). smile
