You mean 99% of members who have a very skewed idea of what constitutes a simulation and what constitutes a game. I'm sorry, but I didn't know one has to be a pretentious twat in order to be a member here. I thought this was a board for flight games, after all.

The thread was moving along nicely until you interjected your sarcastic BS. So, who is the one being pretentious?

Interesting little comment. BTW, the last sim you worked on was....? No, BF3 doesn't count.

Yes, god forbid one makes fun of the usual sorts of libelous nonsense about "arcade games" that gets thrown around here all the time. I've lost count of the number of threads where people used to #%&*$# about how WoP (or most recently Flight) was an arcade game, but can't joke about that at all apparently.

So...if someone is of the opinion that they don't like arcade games, they should be silenced immediately because it differs from your opinion? I''m guessing you are a developer of some sort of arcade game and have a financial stake that makes you belittle people you don't agree with?

Don't put words in my mouth. Go fix that broken sarcasm detector of yours instead.

Putting words in peoples mouth is exactly what you did with your first post in this thread. So maybe if you don't like it done to you, you shouldn't do it to others? Just a thought.

Looks like your getting a little testy. Might I suggest a place where you can go blow off some steam with like-minded folks that are not big fans of simulation stuff?
Here ya go: http://www.chuckecheese.com/the-experience/games-rides.php

(my sarcasm is just fine)

Just some questions regarding this game:

Will it have a mission editor?

If so, can you add programming code to your missions, by design, to be able to implement w/e you want as a mission builder?

If so, can you show some of the objects available for use in the editor?

Can you adjust load-outs down to the ammo belting for every gun and ammo type historically available for the plane including gunner positions on bombers / 2 seaters?

Can you occupy and use every position in a plane?

Can you drop bombs from the bombardier's position while another player is piloting the plane?

Will it have real life damage model? For instance, if your hydraulics get shot out or the engine that controls the hydraulic pump fails will the hydraulics on the plane actually fail (gear falling down, gunner turrets not working)

Will the damage model include damage down to individual spark plugs failing / individual cylinder problems?

Can you run your own MP dedicated server?

How many people can be in a MP server at one time / max capacity of players the game supports?

Are the vehicles/tanks/AAA guns able to be controlled by a player? If so, will they have a damage model down to the component level?

Will the game be moddable?

Will the game get an SKD or map maker released for it?

Sorry for the long winded list. Just trying to compare some stuff to what we have in IL2 Cliffs of Dover.

Answers to these questions would be appreciated by anyone in the know.

No, I posted an ironic joke. Just a friendly reaction to the current bandwagon where the peanut gallery prove their sim credentials by yelling arcade at anything that isn't completely simhard. I for one happen to enjoy simpler sims like WoP, and it gets really old to see how some constantly try to kill the genre by plastering claims of "arcade" this and "console" that all over the web where new people and especially sim devs are likely to see them and get the idea that this represents the entire sim community.

Like I said, people whine about "dumbed down arcade console games" all the time in various threads around here and that's OK but it's not OK to joke about it?
