I must say, on the aboove picture the oil cooler look way to big, almost like a P40E. frown

From the wing it should only moove upward, here it looks like the oil cooler and the underside of the wing are in one strait line.

I hope its just a bad viewangle.

Hi Ralf

This aircraft is the same as my model

The other sharks are MkIII/P40F, which have the shallower oil cooler. wink

Hey John, just a quick note.

I added three position flaps to the model so make sure your personal collection is up to date.

Sent it to IM today so it shouldn't be too long before it's available.

Hi Ralf.

It's a P40B/C Tommahawk MkI/IIA/B.

Hi Ray.

I forgot to mention you need to add the probe to the left wing. I always forget to add them. frown biggrin

Anybody got any more pics/profiles of 250 Squadron Tomahawks in 1941? Or better still 3 RAAF who definitely flew combats agains the Vichy French in Syria. They only converted in May 1941 and broke a lot of undercarriages in the process, but by June they were up and running and shot down or straffed (as the RAF then called it) a shedful of Vichy aircraft in and around Syria - mostly descibed as Morane, Potez and Glen Martin types, the latter being Marylands I guess. Code CV though not usually displayed at this time I think.

Some of you will already know this, but for any prospective researchers out there all the remaing RFC/RN/RAF operational records plus some from the Commonwealth WWII Squadrons are available online from the National Archives at Kew. Some are fairly basic but others include handwritten combat reports by the actual pilots - pretty impressive and highly recommended. You pay a modest fee for each file downloaded but I think they are well worth it. Send me a PM if you want to know more.

Pete

gibbo,ray....

a few items if humanly poss....

further to knegel's comment re the radiator chin scoop,
it does need to have a more rounded belly with the cooling
flaps sitting lower than the fuselage underside.

The prop spinner cone is not to scale and way too long.

Pitot tube on port wing needs to be added.

Six exhaust stacks only.

Aerials need to be finer or skinned in half tones for light/shade
thinning effect.

here's a couple of screens from my il-2 setup which show
the scale and perspectives...

Ok, I edited the spinner and radiator profiles and I reduced the antenna wire as much as possible.

One problem we have is related to the graphics rendering. A single black line shows up as a series of dashes rather than a continuous line. I don't think there's much we can do about it.

I already added the pitot tube when I added the three position flaps. Not sure why it's not showing in the latest screenshots. Mike?

The exhaust stacks are painted on so Mike will have to address that one.

I had to juggle the model a bit about the nose to get the exhaust stacks to render correctly. Then stole and modified the exhaust pipes from one of Flying Tiger's P-40s to complete the nose job on the skin. yep

Thanks Ade! kneeldown

That one is up to Col. Gibbon. He created the model and selected the prop disc. The issue will be settled before the model is posted.

Still no flap shots. "Huston we have a problem..."

Love them, though...

And this is good so.
