Flying at night is also really lacking in FSX.

FSX definitely has a lot going for it with the AI and variety of add-ons (including both aircraft anf locales) with huge 3rd party support, but overall, it just feels "off" to me. Almost like the "feeling of flight" was an afterthought in favor of "How much can we cram in this product?". XP10 is $80, I imagine, because the (Full) scenery install is over 50GB and includes a LOT of terrain out-of-the-box for the world.

Both are great products. It just really depends on what you are looking for.

I do love XP10 + The JRollon CRJ though. smile

Naw, FSX hands down, man.

If you spend some time with XP you can see where the major differences are. XP, IMO, feels smoother and more realistic when flying. FSX sort of feels like I am on track attached to something being led around. The one thing I remember most from when I soloed was how little it felt like I was on rails (of course I also almost died. ahaha). LOL

Been a X-Plane user since 1999. Have every version from 5.52 to 10. Also was user of FS98, FS2002,FS2004 is where I
stopped. Have many friends who work for laminar research and have a gathering at my place with them. We all share
great ideas and show what everyone has done to improve X-plane. Will always be there to support the team.

Big thanks for the input, folks. I've decided to go with FSX (arriving this weekend! see below), although I have also downloaded the X-Plane 10 demo. I suspect I'll be picking up that title sometime down the road.

Now to go find the right mods/aircraft add ons...
