Has anyone seen this? I'm just curious to see what you guys on SimHQ think about it. The majority of the reviews that I've seen so far have been negative.

Yes, I saw it last night in 3D it was a good movie but it seemed like it was awfully dark, could have been the 3D treatment which although interesting didn't really do anything for me. Because it was the 3D version we also saw trailers in 3D for Avengers, Wrath of the Titans and a Pixar movie called Brave which looked better in 3D than the feature we watched.

Just saw it. 3D didn't add to the movie, more to the contrary. I would like to see it again in 2D and I enjoyed it for the story...

Saw it at an iMax, and I thought it looked superb. Quite entertaining for a Saturday night.

And the Prometheus trailer in 3D... eek2

I got the Avengers, Battleship (Transformers 3) and Wrath of the Titans trailers.

Yeah, you did notice it was a "3D afterwards" movie, no wonder the Pixar movie looked better.

I watched it in 2D. (I was disgusted by my local cinema's inability to focus their 3D movie last visit and, as pointed out above, 3D films tend to be a bit dark) I found it very entertaining. It bogged down a little bit in the middle...I don't think it would have hurt them to shave a few minutes off. It feels more like sword and sorcery than science fiction. If you enjoy old Harryhausen films, you'll like John Carter.

Some good trailers, too.

Yes, it was certainly a "3D afterthought" film. Definite mistake.

Go see it! It is a good movie and deserves a sequel. My wife even loved it.
