The question is "Tornado" is flying at an altitude of 100 meters. The report is showing a height of 2 km!
Asuluk training ground.
Practice target: RM-217 Zvezda [program-1] simulating Tornado
S-75M3 Volkhov
00:10, Practice target RM-217 Zvezda [program-1] simulating Tornado launched
34:47, V-755 20DSU Missile launched on Channel-1 Target distance: 34km Target azimuth: 104° Target elevation: 3° Target altitude: 2km SNR mode: Wide Beam H<5 - 75km Missile guidance method: K (Half Lead Elevated By Constans)
35:19, Missile exploded on Channel-1 Practice target RM-217 Zvezda [program-1] simulating Tornado killed by SAM. (miss distance: 14m)
Total, SNR On Air Time: 1min 37sec

Hi Max, Its really pity, that the Soviet Union had not enough Tornado airplane and crew to be able to fly more realistic targets for us in Asuluk. We have to practice against elderly S-25 Berkut (SA-1) missiles, simulating the enemy. Asuluk targets were considered easier than real US targets... ... USAF used to be really unfair enemy .

The same goes for missiles "Tomahawk" with a height problem! Report here ...

Tomahawk and Tornado flying at low altitudes of 100-200 meters, not 1.8 km!
Tornado 100 meters height!
Tomahawk 100-200 meters height!

Same issue here... During the 80's, the Soviet Union had not enough US Tomahawk missiles, to be able to fly more realistic targets for us in Asuluk. We had to practice against elderly LA-17K remote controlled planes, simulating the enemy...

Oh, well that's how I think this glider is a very effective low goal or not.
Tomahawk cruise missile is similar to the glider!

Hmm, but the target height indicator always shows well less than 1 km (closer to 100 meters), not two or so... Is it some kind of "training" program that was built into the SAMs to make them think that targets are actually flying lower than they are?

Hmm again... tried Neva against Tomahawk simulator... it actually flew at less than 100 meters... Asuluk training ground.
Practice target: LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk
S-125M1 Neva
00:00, Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk launched

46:14, V601P 5V27U Missile launched on Channel-2 Target distance: 16km Target azimuth: 60° Target elevation: 0° Target altitude: 136m Missile guidance method: PS (Lead)
46:31, Missile exploded on Channel-1 Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk killed by SAM. (miss distance: 18m)
46:35, Missile exploded on Channel-2 Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk killed by SAM. (miss distance: 102m)

But now tried Volkhov against similar target - now it flew much higher, but height indicator showed much less than 1 km... Weird... Asuluk training ground. Practice target: LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk S-75M3 Volkhov 00:00, Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk launched 51:02, V-759 5Ya23 Missile launched on Channel-1 Target distance: 33km Target azimuth: 69° Target elevation: 3° Target altitude: 1,8km SNR mode: Wide Beam H<1 - 75km Missile guidance method: T/T (Three Point) 51:08, V-759 5Ya23 Missile launched on Channel-2 Target distance: 31km Target azimuth: 70° Target elevation: 3° Target altitude: 1,7km SNR mode: Wide Beam H<1 - 75km Missile guidance method: T/T (Three Point) 51:41, Missile exploded on Channel-1 Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk killed by SAM. (miss distance: 4m) 51:46, Missile exploded on Channel-2 Practice target LA-17K simulating BGM-109 Tomahawk killed by SAM. (miss distance: 4m) Total, SNR On Air Time: 1min 34sec A screenshot:
