Except the kinect sucks as a controller, the new dashboard has sucked every year worse than the previous year and digital sales never go down in price.

To me it sounds like they just killed the xbox.

With more and more ISPs going to a data cap and the current xbox sucking so badly with digital and DLC downloads it is hard for me to get behind this. They are taking the worst aspect of the xbox and making it center stage.

#%&*$#, you cant even sort DLC on the xbox GUI, it wont show you thing you have previously bought and they limit the number of activations you can do per year. (xbox console license transfer.)

No, you can get a download history which will show every file you have ever downloaded including demos and videos. On the computer you can sort this list. On the xbox you can not. If the list is too large it will crash the UI and you will have to log out of your live account to knock it back the the dashboard.

When you go into a game's marketplace it will show you files you have downloaded on your xbox but it will not show you files you have already purchased. You also can not sort the marketplace list to show DLC/videos/avatar stuff in independent categories. Instead you have to view everything combined together with shortened names and poor descriptions. It is almost impossible to figure out what I have previous purchased with forza 3. You cant figure it out via the marketplace easily. You can go into your download history and find everything but you have to go back to 2009 and the UI freezes and crashes around 2010.

The only way I could do it was to add to my download que via the website's account download history list. Requiring someone to use a computer to get your product to work is piss poor design IMHO and does not give me any faith in a system even more dependent on downloadable content/game licenses.

IMHO anyways. I am sure there are tons of people out there with no problems with the current setup.

well, this Xbox isnt the next xbox. they pulled this console along for 8 years now...

I'm not a fan of the "no disk" direction either. For my kids that share time with me like to bring games to their Mom's which this would prevent...

Just because there is no disk does not mean there is no external media reader. They might use flash/firewire drives or standard card readers. We wont know for sure until more information is released. Also it might be like steam where you just log in and download your games anywhere you like.

Or it might be proprietary downloads locked to your account and a specific xbox with limited number of downloads and or uses before you have to buy a new license.

Fine with me. Don't need one on my netbook and I didn't even put one in my desktop until I just felt like it. LOL
Works fine for Steam, Amazon downloads, GoG.com and plenty of others. I bought a couple of digital releases on the 360 in the last month, I just prefer it now. No disc to damage, no disc in the tray...discs are old tech now, even blu-ray IMO. I only get a blu-ray movie if I can't stream it in HD.
