And a million other variations on the same themes...

This is good one Nico. How about Goose Jr. has never forgiven Maverick for his father's death and holds a grudge against Mav. Then some crap hits the fan and Maverick saves Goose Jr. forcing him to realize it wasn't Mavs fault afterall. :-) This sub-plot could certainly be in there.

Maverick wakes up - the events on the carrier and at Miramar were just a dream.
He's actually a clerk at a convenience store.

Not sure what they call them Stateside Jase, maybe 'Garbage-Refuse Disposal Officials' (GRDO's,completely unnecessary acronyms incorporated smile ). He stole the Heart of Mavericks girl by serenading her with an acoustic version of Ricky Martins 'living la vida loca' , by candlelight....as Maverick was so drunk on self love that he didn't notice her affections slipping away. He took that love for granted, and paid teh price.

I also forgot to add that 'Maverick can trust no one, in this deadly game of cat and mouse', and that Michael Bay will be directing, in order that 'BayHem' can ensue. It's going to be a winner....be sure.

LOL. In the U.S. we call them Garbage Men also known as overpaid city employees in some circles.

Perhaps the will do a "Top Gun - The beginning" in a few years. Would be really cool if the tell the actual story of the top gun school and added the story of what happened to Maverick's dad. The 60's, Nam and the top gun school, scenes going back a forth between the two locations ... that would be awesome. Or maybe it's just me coming off a massive dogfight high from a couple of hours of SF2 Vietnam :-)

As the credits roll we see an F-35 sitting on the ramp. A pilot strolls out to the jet and climbs up the ladder and over into the cockpit. The credits are over. Scene from the tower.
"Navy seven two five you are clear for takeoff."
"Roger, tower."
Cut to the cockpit.
The pilot pushes the throttle forward and the engines rev up to a deafening roar. The airplane begins to head straight up.
Cut to an Admiral watching the jet take off. "Looks good, looks good! He's got it!"
But the airplane's nose drops , then goes up, then drops again. Then it's right wing drops, then the other.
"He's losing it, he's losing it!" Someone yells.
Finally the jet's nose goes up, and the the airplane goes down, hitting the ground in a ball of flames.
The Admiral walks into operations and tells a Lieutenant. "Get him on the phone!"
"No Admiral, not him. He said he's had it with flying. Wants to play volleyball all day.'
"He'll fly. Call 'im!"
Cut to a closeup of a telephone.
Val Kilner picks it up. "Yes?"
He turns and says, "It's for you sweetheart."
Coseup of Tom Cruise. "Yes, this Maverick!"
