Hi All.

I'm back from oblivion!

MY C drive had 22 Viruses, which was a shock, as I thought I had a pretty tight ship. I'm now having to do all the boring stuff, before everything is running normally.

Hi John,

Not having much luck at the moment are you? Glad to hear you seem to be OK now. I run 3 antivirus progs which drives my good lady crackers as it takes over 5 minutes to get into her emails at times, and even then the odd virus has slipped through - but not for long so far. Always puzzles me why the antivirus progs can find and delete the problem on a scan but don't stop them in the first place. I guess that if I crank up the security settings to block everything I would not be able to go on line. Incidentally I run 3 because I have found in the past that no one prog seems to find all the problems on its own.

Oh well, these things are sent to try us.

Pete

Glad you're back Col.

I use Norton (paid sub), and also MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (free version). The latter seems particularly lethal against the nasties.
