Okay guys will try as you suggest and get back to you.
Once thing though, everything worked fine until I started playing around with the 1.28e patch for SPAW and FAW and when I installed VB6 runtime on my PC to enable Mr Jelly's stuff to work.
Could there be any sort of connection here???

I reckon that you should have three EAW folders (or more if you like).

The first patched to 1.28E, plus the FAW stuff and only used for FAW with the FAW manager.
The second also patched to 1.28E for all the DirSet Picker stuff.
The third being the default install, patched to 1.2, or preferably a copy of it.

PTII must be run in a 1.2 folder and never in one patched to 1.28E.

The problem you mention is not connected with the patches, unless you are trying to run PTII in a 1.28E patched folder, which you should not be.

The best EAW online games are at GameRanger: GameRanger Site

Now you can join a running game, and even use multiple controllers smile

Yes - I reckon its a file mixing issue. I have these setups which keep things apart:

(1) various historical 1.2 separate installs which all run under a single hard disk CDF folder rather than the CD (in some ways a preminition of how OAW currently works)

(2) OAW 128C (the last backward compatible version) with a large number of scenario folders

(3) OAW 128E/F with scenario folders within I'm doing my current work.
