Trolling for feed back on Dystopia. Right now the mission is doing more or less as intended but I want to put in a BIG final fight....and give arty to arty spotter.....lol. Hopefully V1.0 will be wrapped up by end of weekend. But feed back helps a ton you quite non talking people!



Wow got my butt handed to me in the first night battle. Had my supporting infantry way to spread out. Rule 1 for night fights.....condense your lines. UGH! Love SABOW, the only game I know that you can make a mission, roughly know whats going to happen, and still get your arse totally kicked.

indetified some more small issues with v0.9 dystopia. I gave stricken convoy 40 ammo (which I thought was a heck of alot) however it all gets used up within 2 or 3 turns. I certainly don't remember seeing this before with any other mission in SABOW. Scratches head. IF arty was getting restocked that would be ok with me, but it is not...........so what the heck???? So more ammo I guess.

Night battles are really freaken dark, which is fine. Thats why your arty support has flares......use them. BUT arty is not restocking them grrrrrr. But this ties in with the opps arty spotter I did not give arty too.

Oh and I dindt give any ammo to depot, now that should not be a problem as theres only 10 turns and you might need more ammo around turn 9 or 10. Still need to fix that.


Ok to much fighting at night in current build biggrin I wanted dark so enemy infantry could have a chance to infiltrate your lines.....but TOO much dark. Will fix that by SUNDAY.

OK think I found all the issues with V0.9. Ill start v1.0 here right quick. Hopefully before Sunday. BIGGEST ONE.......To freaken dark for to many turns. Started pissing me off. One or two, Ok a challange.......4 or 5 AUCK, hell on earth no fun. pitchafit


Totally restructured mission, calling it dysyopia V9B. Issues I thought I had gotten rid of have reappeared. That is the enemy ignores attacking the convoy and goes straight for the dug in south africian armor. Sort of funny really.....but not what im after.

Wow, getting the ai to do more or less what I want in a more linear way is proving vary difficult......For Dystopia V1.0. Should be ALOT better than sudo beta Vo.9. Got what is supppose to happen with convoy and relief force to do what I want, but after that.??????????????????????????? It does what it wants.

Ok I was trying to get to where the player only needed to worry about 2 combat squads and 2 supply squads. I could spend DAYS and I could maybe get it to do what I want.......sometimes or just do the easy thing and make the player in control of relief force. Hmmmmmm I think the easy way is the way to go.

Back to Angola as a playable t62 on Unita's side........... Fight along with South African forces to defend your fuel stricken supply convoy.




Made some what scalable based upon skill level. While the skill level is a bit higher than default SABOW, it certainly is not set to extreme. If you find it to easy set the ai level higher via menu in game. As with all my missions setting historical units to OFF allows a few more reinforcements for your platoons.

Remember your mission! 1. keep convoy from being destroyed. 2. Fight your way to convoy and protect fuel/recovery platoon. 3. Get out of dodge and return to defensive lines (supply depot area) before enemy over runs stricken supply convoy area. If you are up to major challenge just sit there =). Use the assets given to you. Flares from arty are extremely useful when vary dark. Oh and scan, scan, and scan somemore. Pretty much every btr-60 has mechanics in them. Try to keep them alive to repair your armor and equipment. They are not tagged as such. Honestly did not think of it when making mini mod V1.5.

This mission is an attempt at a somewhat more linear structure than defualt SABOW. Suprisingly dificult to get ai to do what you want. Hopefully the ai does not do something totally crazy to you........like ignore the striken supply convoy and go hell bent on your supply depot area while its not too defended or just sit around convoy and dig in. Vary hard to dig them out of there holes to get fuel thru to stricken convoy.

Nice work, downloading. I wish I had more time to play this, buut I'll get to play it eventually once I master things.

With the AI, I reckon maybe it's ok even if they don't do what's expected. That's the SABOW way wink

Oh poop. Which eng or ger version?

Found the issue......again. Had a link to the version of Dystopia BEFORE I set up the addpack file. SO sorry bout that. All links should now go to the right place. The mission however is the same, just a fubar addpack file. You could manually install the mission (cut paste type stuff) or just redownload it. oops

Now i finished first battle and everything was alright. Almost everything... my tank sank in quick sand biggrin
