I blame you for the lack of SLI perf. Take it like a man.

I don't have an SLI or Crossfire set-up, sorry not able to help you there... biggrin

Me neither, and my performance is pretty good already. smile

I just thought we should allocate the blame on a calendar basis, next week bisher is up for the sound effects..

Still think it could just mean the "BETA" and not retail, look at the update from a few weeks ago......

"First of all, let’s talk about the upcoming patch.

We haven’t talked about our flight model for some time. We haven’t been idle however. Not only are we fine-tuning plane performance, we’re making some very deep changes to the underlying core of our physics code.

We are completely rewriting collision and landing gear, while also making other elements of the flight model more complete and precise. Control surface behavior and reaction has been significantly improved. Refined transverse velocity calculations in relation to aircraft performance. Made it possible to calculate different transverse velocity at different points along the wing. Improved pylon and loadout FM calculations. Added many new features to allow FM calculation needed in future sequels. Many of these changes have also entailed completely rewriting existing code.

And this is by no means a complete list!

smoke and mirrors Chivas.

Smoke and mirrors...no they have more serious things to do than worry about misleading you. It doesn't matter what they say or how they say it I'm sure you will find some kind of conspiracy to their commments. I can undertstand the developers being vague in the process utnil they know for sure which aspects will work well enough to be included in each patch.

Its unfortunate that the next patch won't include other fixes, but I completely understand the beta testing process and its much better to beta test the MAJOR performance issues without including fixes which could over complicate the testing.

I don't see the sequel coming out any time soon, so there will be plenty of time for another patch which will include AI, Commans, FM, etc fixes to be tested. They would probably like those features tested before releasing the sequel anyway.

From the updates they have been posting it seems more progress is being made on the sequel than COD. (sarcasm...before you get your undies in a twist)

On a good note, BlackSix's comment below,

"We’re not working on an externally set schedule, so we can sit down and do things right rather than rushing them out to meet a deadline."

This suggests to me that the financial backers are no longer forcing the work out the door, which was the main problem with the original COD release. I understand the financial backers getting rather worried about their investment, but the initial sales of COD must have allayed much of their fears. This is the type of project where the intial cost is very high and they won't be getting their monies back until more addons are sold. Because of the strong diversity of the new game engine this series should get very profitable on the back end.

Sarcasm aside, it would be easy for some to come to that conclusion, which is the cause of most of the angst in the forums.

Lets face it.. apart from the graphics improvement (hopefully) in the next patch, we are unlikely to get any major update to CloD until the arrival of BoM, which should apparently incorporate all of it's new improvements to CloD..
So, just fork out more cash to the sequel and all will be well.. (lot's of sarcasm included).
