Hello all,long time no see.Hope you all are well
I've been busily getting back into EAW and have been trying to install FAW without any luck so far.
I downloaded all the required FAW stuff.Installed EAW patched it 1.2,ran it and then installed FAW,the 1.28e version.Try to run the FAW Man and get this message:

Componet MSFLXGRD.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered:A file is missing or invalid

So no go at all.

What does mean????

I doing all I think I should.What should I do????

Someone here plse give a step by step install guide,so I get this game up and running

don't install eaw
create a new folder
copy the cd content to this new folder
install the 1.28E in this new folder, give it a try to see if it's running, then install FAW in that same new folder and it should work ok

The FAW manager was written in Visual Basic 6 as was OAW.
If you install the OAW runtime set-up the FAW manager should work.
I think they are downloadable from Sandbaggers.
If not give us a "Hoi".

The problem and solution is described in the FAW Readme file, were you can read this:

FAW Manager
The FAW Manager needs to have the VB6 Runtime Library installed which it normally is on most computers. If
it’s not installed you get messages like this when trying to start the FAW Manager:
Component "MSFLXGDR.OCX" or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
Then you go here: http://www.sandbagger.uk.com/jellyadd.html
to download: 'JelsVB6Runtimes', which installs the runtime files needed.

Did as requested,got the FAWman to open,however when I launch FAW I go straight to EAW only,not FAW.
I did note with the FAWman screen the "ready" was always there and when I tried to clean up,the "ready" still remained when the other stuff cleared.Is that right???

When you have used FAWMan to clean up, please check your main EAW folder so there are no Cdf.set and no Dir.set files and no other non default EAW files left.

If there are no add on files start FAWMan again and follow the description in the FAW Readme file and check if the FAW Cdf.set and Dir.set files are copied to your main EAW folder.

The Cdf.set and Dir.set system was introduced in EAW 1.28c and those files points EAW to read the correct FAW files in this case.

I suspect that Red13 is using 1.2 and not a 1.28 version.

The install version of FAW that I'm using is the 1.28e one.
Can someone please take the time to give me a step by step install guide for FAW,so that I can get it right.
What I did was install EAW from the disc,I patched it to 1.2 and then installed the latest version of FAW into the EAW folder,then I added ETO1 and then the Planes folder.
What should I be doing???

If it is 1.2 it will not run 1.28 stuff, especially 1.28E.
So which eaw.exe are you running? Once we know we can help you

I patched my new install of EAW to version 1.2(back in the day that's what one always did!!??).I then dropped the updated 1.28e version of FAW into the patched EAW folder.I then added the VB6 to my PC system as you Suggested and that gotthe FAWMan file to open(remember above on this thread I couldn't get FAWMan to execute)I then found the Manager ater loading just cuts to EAW and not FAW.
Is the patching of the original instll of EAW to 1.2 the issue???
Please advise a step by step install gide for FAW for me to follow,thanks.That I believe will assist me in solving the problem
