This D.3dz?

It was a piece of code of mine for a fourth stick-on that actually worked, but never quite made it to a released exe.

But now you ask ....

Hi Ralf.

Moggy and I simply added the D.3dz to the list in the exe, adding all the paste on properties, etc. We tried everything we could to get it too work, and there is a long thread on the GEN. The D worked as a 3dz in game, but only as a single 3dz. I don't think we could get it to paste on, and it only worked in game as a replacement for another 3dz. It's like there is a limit of 7 3dz's in one model.

I think it might have something to do with the letter code, as D.3dz is also a damaged Tmod. Now, if we could get this to work, then all the 26 letters should be able to add, and then all our problems of running out of elements would be a thing of the past.

I'll find the thread on the GEN, when it's back up, and running.

See the thread at the Gen. I got the D.3dz to work as an extra 3dz. But then it only ever worked as one extra. We couldn't add more than one because of limitations somewhere in the then code.

But see The Gen. We may have now solved the problem. Great possibilities may be opening up.

In the light of this new addition, which Ralf has made, we now will have ten 3dz's, which can be used to make up one model aircraft.

The 3dz's we will be able to use, will be A=25, B=26, C=27, D=30, E=28, F MAIN MODEL, G=29 I=31 J=32.

I will add a further special texture link for the D.3dz. This will be DEX = DRA, available for all MS models.

I'm hoping we will also get the remaining four 3dz's set up for torn off elements like rudder, elevators, and an engine as suggested buy Ray.

This update should be available in the up coming patch, and I'll revamp the 3dz Studio to cope with the new models.

Yes Moggy it certainly is. thumbsup

We will need to think about a condition where a bomber can loose an engine. Perhaps make the engine hits so after it's on fire, if you continue hitting it, it shears off? Or a direct flak hit would do it?

Just a shame the BIG carrier models can't be done by Hard Pointing together. That would have been the icing on the cake.

Like the idea of losing an engine.

Let's keep the carriers in mind. After all before yesterday we didn't think we'd gain the extra 3dzs, a happy accident as a consequence of taking a mallet to planes.dat.

Dont forget, we miss that exact hit positions, the damages must be rather generic.

Btw, why dont you build the carrier out of a plane object on the ground?
