Not talking about the DCS modules that they're doing. I'm saying that it would have been a great way to go , with this ,"Flying Legends," idea. And yeah, the terrain wouldn't even matter, if they'd done that. That would have kept me busy for a long time. Hmm...P-38's vs. Ki-61's. I better stop, now I'm making MYSELF drool!

Creating two aircraft to learn at the same time will split community. I think it's wise to release one aircraft at a time.

Jedi - true, but their mission profiles are to kill tanks or CAS, so the main enemy is AA. The Mustang?

Sim - maybe, but as long as the selling point is just learning to fly the thing. What I worry about is flying it around the Black Sea for a bit and then getting bored. There are only so many switches to fiddle with after all, and it's not like we haven't had a P51 a few times before in a civ setting.

Some decent air to air combat with an historical enemy sounded great fun

I'm pretty sure ED who has been in the flight sim market for quite some time is listening..... not only to us but the other customer base that doesn't go online to voice their opinions. We have to remember that ED's parent company has one of the (if not THE) largest collection of vintage warbirds and I'm sure their taking all of they're customers views into account. I hope this is beginning of new and exciting opportunities for ED and especially us. My opinion but I look forward to where this might lead, hope it leads to DCS becoming the combat "Flight Simulator"!

Also, just to add - single plane or not, I'm buying it day 0. I like ED's products.

I find it strange that very few are willing to see the big picture like this. Since MS has left a massive hole in the market, the door is wide open for talented companies to exploit it.

If ED get a foothold in this market the sky is the limit. Imagine Accusim or PMDG, and ED developing aircraft for DCS. Imagine professional 3rd party Terrains etc etc.

^Me too Nate, me too. I for one wouldn't mind seeing ED/DCS exploring the civilian aviation world as well. How flipping cool would it be to have a combat and civilian sim all in one. We could fly escort for Air Force One..... OK I'm getting carried away here but I like the potential possibilities!

If this works well for ED this could mean faster progress on combat installments on the DCS series too, as extra income tends to grow a business and work output....

There is a real potential market for this product. How ED handles it will tell if DCS becomes the new MS Flight simulator.
