Hi there,
Anyone who missed it firstplace:
@moderators: i wasn't able to find the original anouncement in the articles overview and feedback threads so if anyone can point to that please do so.http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=simdownload&postID=3496651Be aware it's only for >100 post users.
My download was ok and installed without problems however since i own only SF2NA and SF2V had some issues with some airfields.
Without editing, some runway were simply not there and if starting a mission one ended up either in the middle of the runway with all aircraft resulting in a explosion or had a airstart with imediate collision.
I edited the cat pointer to the SF2V terrain but that one lacks the airfield.inis for GermanyCE and apparently one Runway LOD file.
In the Blacksea2_types.ini Runway4_soviet refers a runway4_nv.lod that isn't present in SF2V.
Setting the reference ModelName=airfield4.lod resolves this issiue.
For the missing airfield.inis:
One needs to extract from VietnamSEA.cat and rename accordingly:
original: Renamed:
VietnamSEA_airfield4.ini >> soviet_airbase3.ini
VietnamSEA_airfield5_NV.ini >> soviet_airbase1.ini
VietnamSEA_airfield6.ini >> german_airbase4.ini
VietnamSEA_airfield4.ini >> german_airbase3.ini
VIETNAMSEA_AIRFIELD1.INI >> GERMAN_AIRBASE1.INI
For extraction use the latest third wire utilities [april 2012 as of this date].
The renamed files go into the terrains\blacksea2\ folder.
That's the workaround to get this terrain useable when one doesn't have SF2E installed.
It might be possible to get it working with SF2 only too by editing blacksea2_types.ini to reference only runway without _nv suffix and rename desert_arifield?.ini files accordingly. Since i don't own SF2 i can't test that.
Hope this helps all who ran into similar problems.
Last: Many thanks to PFunk for his excellent terrain addon.
S!
