BlueSixGolf has allowed me to play test the first 3 missions of his upcoming Steel Beasts Pro PE mission pack based on actual missions told in Harold Coyle's excellent best seller "Team Yankee".

Here are a select few screens from the play test sessions...

Just the way I remember it from the book! I think I read Team Yankee more than any of Coyle's other works.

Does the sim model thermal signatures now?

As I recall from the book (long time ago) the first battle has TY sat in position with cold vehicles while the (Polish?) opposition advance blindly.

Always fancied playing those battles on a PC.

next mission was the best... incredible battle starting at night, ending at dawn... and best part, not one lost unit for me... lost almost every unit on all other missions. lol

Wow..those are awesome. What a great book.

Did you ever read one of his follow on books I think it was "God's Children"? That was one of my favorite books of his and really had a punch for what it must be like to be in a war situation.

These scenarios look fantastic. Any idea when BlueSixGolf plans to release them?

Would be great to get some other of Coyle's scenarios in play too. Plenty of his books have cold warish stuff, but add "The Ten Thousand" and you have US vs German gear. M1A2 vs Leopard 2.

We'd need an M1A2 first. wink

Clear your schedule. Team Yankee is just the beginning... then there's Ten Thousand and the rest of Coyle's works. You won't be able to put them down or get enough.

Ten Thousand featured M-1A1s, actually, so it's completely doable.

If you're looking for M-1A2 action, get Proud Legions by John Antal. Not as personally gripping, but still believable and accurate since Antal's an Army vet too (assuming he's retired by now). If you're interested he also did 3 interactive military fictions based on the M-1, an infantry platoon and an M-1A2 company.

Don't forget Sword Point gents. M1s and M1A1s.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Team Yankee scenarios. Thank you for sharing!
