Hi

I have seen a couple of posts relating to this on the ED forums but no-one seems to have a solution.

I have just installed the 1.1.1.1 BS2 Upgrade and when trying to fire up the engines the Page Up to take the engines from idle to auto is not working. I got round that by using the auto start sequence (which I don't like doing as it makes me feel like a noob) but I then found that the trimmer button doesn't work either (T).

I have tried remapping the throttle buttons to other keys and also to joystick buttons but to no avail.

The trimmer button doesn't work on either the keyboard or the assigned button on my stick.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Tango,

It's hard to troubleshoot this without being at your machine.

First off, what do you mean by "fire up the engines"? The engine start system in the Ka-50 is not automatic like the A-10C - it takes more than moving a throttle to start the engines.

Secondly, are you in Sim or Game mode? If in Game mode, it looks like the Throttle Up command isn't mapped by default. If in Sim mode, make sure you're making these key assignments in the "Ka-50 Sim" mode, not "Ka-50 Game". (see pic below)

Lastly, check to see if the same function is mapped to any other controller.

Hi

What I mean is that I go through the start up procedure so that the engines are running and the APU has been turned off and that I need to take the throttle from Idle to Auto by hitting the Page Up key twice, a procedure I've done a hundred times before. When I hit the Page Up key nothing happens. As I say I've checked all the assignments and tried re-mapping it to other keys and joystick buttons but nothing will make it work.

I even navigated to the controller config file but I couldn't see anything out of place.

If I use the Auto Start-up (L-Win & Home) it all fires up OK but then, when I take off and try to trim, the trim button doesn't work either.

I hope that clarifies things a bit.

Are you flying in Game mode or Sim mode?

Tango,

Can you post your Keyboard.lua file? In Win7 it's found at C:\Users\{UserNameHere}\Saved Games\DCS BlackShark 2\Config\Input\ka-50\keyboard

Hi Einstein

Thanks with your help with this one, following your PM I found the problem: I had copied my keyboard layout over from BS1 and put it in the E:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS Black Shark 2\Config\Input\Aircrafts\ka-50 folder.

I read the post saying *not* to do this after I had already done it so I uninstalled BS2 and deleted the above folder. What I didn't realise what that there is also a config folder in My Documents\My Games as well.

Anway, I uninstalled BS2, deleted the folder in My Games and reinstalled and everything is now working perfectly.

I guess I should have been suspicious when I reinstalled the game last time and all my settings were still there from before the uninstall.

Cheers! Much appreciated!

Tango.
