(using 3DS max and V-Ray). 3 years of work in a little over 3 minutes.

This is so cool!

Someone has some sewrious time on their hands, pretty cool to watch.

I remember making an AT/AT out of normal undesigner shaped lego when i was about 11-12.Took me nearly all day and i used nearly my whole lego collection, had to break apart a heap of planes and other stuff. I thought it was the coolest lego thing ever, moving leg joints and neck , then my mate who was staying over for the weekend pushed it off my desk and busted it ..so i busted his nose, his mum had to come and pick him up biggrin

My character somehow got all twisted up. I was playing the mission where you have to infiltrate the Golden Glow Estate and do multiple things. When I was out burning beehives and fighting I just eventually ran away to view my success from a distance. I first noticed it when I squated down on a tree trunk. Coot..the squatter../simHQ/2011

If that accurately depicts the real Lego MF kit that is really something. Think of the poor sap who built the first one, must have one helluva set of instructions.

It does. Takes about 24h buildtime. Ofcouse it is build in sections, and not in the order depicted in that movie, but otherwise it looks brick perfect.

It took my son and I a little over two hours to build his LEGO Batwing and Joker's helicopter.

One of the best things about CG is it's very possible to screw up and not lose loads of work. I know this from many years of experience. smile

Not sure why that took three years, but it is definitely very cool.

I suspect stop-motion with the real kit may have taken much less time wink

Stop-motion is for freaks and weirdos. CG is also for freaks and weirdos, but to a much lesser extent.

I'm normally way too modest to show off much of the stuff I do, but tonight I'm a bit drunk and will therefore post this as it's probably still my favourite...

Footnote: No cardboard was harmed in the making of this commercial. Actually that's a lie, I destroyed a fair amount for the sake of research.

Impressive, most impressive.
Now is there some Lego CNC type machine that will build it for him? With all of that work, it would be nice to put it on a shelf.
This could be some kind of animation portfolio piece for his resume.
