Thats the best way I can describe it.

When I fly I feel the plane always shakes back and forth or drifts to the side even when I dont touch the stick.

I am using a Logitech Etreme 3D Pro. I tried moving the dead zones in game. I tried setting to game mode and simulation mode. I tried reinstalling the program.

I have flown many other sims and games and the plane does not drift or shake slightly. I can get a smooth flight. I have a hard time lining up a strafe or just trying to fly straight and level jerks me arounf slightly. I also get drifting of the plane.

Not sure if this is the way it should fly, or if it is the joystick or a setting or just me.
Its causing me not to fly or learn the sim. I tried looking it up to see if others are having this issue, but I am not sure I am wording my problem right.

Thanks!

Intel i7 950
EVGA GTX 460 SLI

Please post a track.

Make sure your rudder is de-coupled from your stick (you may have the rudder assigned to some axis that you didn't intend to).

You do get occasional drifting and will go lop-sided when you drop ordnance but yours sounds like the stick is spiking on its inputs. Have you tried disconnecting the stick and fly to see how it behaves?

Try flying with the keyboard!! Just to eliminate/confirm the problem with your stick. Up/down/left/right controls the stick, KP-/+ is throttle down/up. Z and X are your rudders.

Ok. Thanks for the quick help guys!

I unassigned the rudder in the options menu and now it is much better. Why I didnt try that before is beyond me. Now I am going to learn to fly this bird and use the systems. Thanks again!

You will want to get that rudder back one way or the other though, so might be a good idea to get some rudder pedals, though the keyboard may do fine for now.

I have the same stick. Works good in FSX/FS2004, but LOMAC and A-10C both look like a drunk rabid badger is in the cockpit with me when I fly.

I used to have that stick about... 7-8 years ago? Gave up after 6 months, the pots started spiking. Might be best to check in Windows if this is happening with your stick.

Mine's about 2 years old. In Windows 7's test program moving the thing in circles results in a trapezoid, plus it spikes.. X52 Pro is showing on the shipping site's tracker now though.. I'll probably leave the Logitech plugged in for the extra buttons it'll give me.

I have the same stick - I use a deadzone of 7 and a curvature of 30 - silky smooth for me.
