I'm weak, I bought it

I haven't played this game for a few months, and I've since went from a GTX 260 to 560ti 2GB. Sadly I hardly saw any performance increase from the GPU upgrade. I guess the AMD 965 just doesn't cut it for this game. But on medium settings the graphics still look decent.

You've got a quad-core 3.4 GHz cpu and a 2 GB gpu and you're on medium settings??? Something isn't right. My system is 6 years old and it runs medium to high.

Turn off all post processing except for rain drops. AF is a killer so try lowest setting. Turn AA down to maybe 2 at first then try 4 later. With these 3 things set low you should be able to max most other graphics settings, and then try to move the fps killers AF and AA up gradually.

If you're still struggling once turning PP, AF, AA down, you must be bottlenecked elsewhere, OR (a long shot) when I first ran RoF for some reason it only ran on 1 core, so make sure affinity is set for running on all 4 cores.

I bought it from https://www.fspilotshop.com but the download wont complete, it starts off at 3 megs a second then slowly degrades til it goes to 0 ...... can I just download the RFD-100.rar from somewhere else and use the serial key I got?

Dont worry about downloading from FSPilotshop. If they supplied the cd key via email or in your account there you are good to go.

Just go here and download the demo. Then register an account on their webpage. Log into your account, find the serial tab and enter your key.

You DO NOT need to register anything on our website. It is all done on the main screen in the game after initial install!

Once you have installed ROF and created a user account and you want to visit our webpage to buy more planes or post on the forum all you need to do is log in using the same login email and password you used to register the game.

We simplified this process long ago.

lol you think not being able to copy/past a 25 random letter serial key is easier (simplified?) than doing it online?

I still recommend registering on their website. It takes 1/10th of the time as the in game registration but you can use whatever you want.
