It seems silly to buy a console for the sake of just one game, but I almost did that for RDR. I'm desperate to see some good Western action I played Call of Juarez 1 and 2 for a bit, but these are FPS and just OK-ish. I have no doubt that a Western game, if well done, would be a blockbuster regardless of the platform. Edit: No offence NimRud

GT5 isn't worth a console buy IMHO but forza might be and RDR for sure.
If you get a 360 you can have forza and RDR which IMHO is more than good enough to buy a console.

BTW curious why Rockstar doesn't think they can make money porting RDR to PC, just saw an article which said the recent PC release of Alan Wake made back it's costs in the first 48 hours of PC sales and this was despite it being a <$30 title on PC: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-02-20-alan-wake-pc-makes-money-back-in-48-hours GTA4 sales sucked on PC because it was a bad port that ran like crap even for the fastest PCs of the time, but I'm sure if Rockstar did a good job with the port RDR would sell like crazy, I have a copy on the PS3 (original) and I bought a copy for my Xbox360 for the better graphics and I would probably pick it up on the PC too just to be able to enjoy those awesome sunrises on horseback in full AA/AF graphics glory.

all they need to do for GT5 to make me happy... is unlock all the cars and tracks and damage models... so I can race any car, any track either by myself or online with friends... thats all they have to do. (proper Fanatec wheel support would be a big plus.) But your right... IMO, RDR is worth it.

And AI in mp races. The one think I LOVE about forza is the ability to set up a custom race with the exact cars you want and then race it with or without friends.

I also bought a PS3 for GT5, but for me it turned out to be worth it, I spent hundreds of hours with GT5 and then discovered console gaming and now have that PS3 and bought an Xbox360 as well...
But you are right the Fanatec wheel support on GT5 is not as good as the G27 support which is what I used for most of my time in GT5.

I like to use that to set up something like a "track day" on the Nordschleife with a mix of various classes running the track for traffic.

Nordschleife trackdays were one of the things I was most looking forward to for Forza4 but I have not been able to figure out how to set that up, it seems like the trackday/slower traffic feature is only available in the "Rivals" mode but I haven't been able to figure out how to create a custom one, the only thing I've managed is to setup an online race on Nordschleife with a particular car class but make it AI only, is that what you mean?

Why is a thread about a PC version or RDR stuck down in the console forum?
