I just returned from a month long deployment to Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson AZ for two exercises. One was "Advanced Guard" which I can't talk about much, and one was a traditional "Snowbird" exercise where our A-10s fly with live ordinance.

One thing I'll take away from Tucson is the awesome sunsets nearly every day.

AGM-65G, 300lb live warhead, and under the belly one of two live 500lb Mk-82s.

I think it is very smart to label the A-10 "Fragile - Do Not Impact"...because we all know they aren't very sturdy right..!

It always still amazes me how big the ordnance and aircraft actually is when you see someone standing next to them. Great pics WK, do you have a 1920x1080 of the top one?

Awesome pics man! You guys are going old school with those MK-82's 904/905 fuzing. Cool stuff but I still like the DSU/33 and FMU 139 option better!

LMAO Chris! That fence is the ONLY thing fragile on these beasts! smile

Mace, I only have 1600 x 1200 pics. They were taken from my crappy little RCA SK-210M because it was smaller than my Canon Eos for traveling by C-130s. smile

Paul, I haven't heard final words on a Hawgsmoke this year, but I'll be first to volunteer. Might as well put up a good show/fight since my base might be losing our A-10s. Be cool to hear "Ft Wayne's 122FW Blacksnakes won Hawgsmoke 2012...just before BRAC killed them." neaner

Great shots, WK! Now you know why the locals will sit out 110°+ temps every summer.

Thanks for the pics WK! Like the last one. Did not realize how big the TGP is!
