(at least since they announced we won't get promised stuff until the sequel) This I was perfectly willing to be patient and wait quietly until they announced they were working on the sequel. Since the sequel announcement, I have been banned twice. lol

I watched the video on the user operated Flak and thought what is he shooting at? I can't see the planes, maybe it's the low resolution of the video but it doesn't look like optimized graphics to me, but then maybe they weren't using it in that build.

My reading of the updates is:
BoM will be stand-alone (you won't need to buy CoD), however it will be possible to merge content if you own both.
Most of the work that is being done on CoD involves engine refinements, not new content. So, there are a lot of new screenshots for things like W.I.P 3d models and terrain for BoM, while the work on CoD is generally refinements 'under the hood' (graphics engine, FM fixes) which can't be shown in updates.
btw. It was already announced, weeks before the Russian release of CoD, that the advanced weather model was too inefficient and probably wouldn't be ready until the sequel (however, it will be possible to run CoD content in the sequel).
As for drivable vehicles - they've been planned for several years and most of the code is already in the engine. It was just a matter of finding time to finish up some of the content.
So, I really don't see much to be concerned about... (other than whether we'll see Lysanders, Autogyros, the Med and Korea)

How long ago was the Sim released? April 26? so we're 10 months down the road and the ENGINE is still being worked on.
I hope all those who bought the game on release are going to get a fully functional And completed product, without being expected to purchase an add-on.
I expect words like 'enhancements' and 'added features' to be bandied about - to justify charging for the patch that gets the game to 1.0 retail release levels.
Anyone want to take a bet that we won't see a patch that contains all the engine fixes for free, with all the dependent data included, seperate to a payware patch with added content?
What WW2 Fighter pilots say about Angels and Airspeed:
"Nice job of getting down to the basics - love your choice of a cover!" Col. Clarence 'Bud' Anderson
"I have enjoyed reading angels and airspeed, it should prove good reading for all interested in combat tactics and their application related to the fluid air environment and state of technology in WWII years. All the best as you make it available." - Col. Charles McGee - Tuskegee Airman

I think we'll see a free CloD patch before the BoM sequel...they need us to beta test it.

Sorry, I just am not interested in the Russian front. If CoD doesn't get fixed than I certainly won't be offering anymore financial support by buying BoM. Guess I stick to Rise of Flight.

I just don't understand how people jump to the conclusion that Cliffs is dead and they are moving onto Moscow because there is absolutely zero evidence of this, This version of Il-2 is following the same format of the last Il-2/ Forgotten Battles/ Aces Expansion/ Pacific Fighters..etc remember? the next installment will plug in and the next and then there will be a merged version of all of them and so on just like before and last time I checked the sky was firmly in place.

Some folks might say? For the last five months, from 1C, "all lip and no patch".... Luthier reminds me of ? The Captain of the Concordia.....
If CloD were an Ere_tile Dysfunction med? Nobody would "get off" the ground. Further, 14 months after "taking it"? The duct tape and splint patch ain't very fun. So, what ya got now? A bunch of folks sporting a male member, that looks like a "skinned squirrel".

Some folks might say? For the last five months, from 1C, "all lip and no patch".... Luthier reminds me of ? The Captain of the Concordia..... Well I'll admit I chuckled at that one, but I have been on the net far too long to believe half of what people say and think and I'm skeptical of the other half these days. Too many peoples opinions and personal tastes are becoming the norm and what little info comes out is being dissected and twisted to mean whatever they want it too. Personally I think there will be a patch first week of March or shortly thereafter. Just guessing...
