It was a rough landing, but fun! Wind was really thowing the plane around. I came in way too fast and went off the other end of the runway, but I didnt take pics of that part (because your not supposed to know that happened). duh

Awesome pics, dude. FSX, right? What scenery add-on do you have in those shots?"

I don't think that's FSX. I'm thinking X-Plane; just by the paused message in the screenshots.

It's X-plane 10 (XPX). And I'm pretty sure that's the Aerosoft CRJ-200. Scoobe had mentioned in another thread that he was playing around with converting FSX Scenery into XPX, so that might be an FSX based LaGuardia.

Great shots as always!

Question: are the rain effects on the windshield animated (as in the water drops roll across the window as they are pushed along by the slip stream?) or are they static?

Nice shots. I enjoy flying into LaGuardia (in real life). They have a nice FBO in the old Marine Terminal which is cool. JFK - however...bleh..

Thanks, Yes the Rain drops are animated very nicely across the windshield with the wind. The wipers really do wipe off the rain. Pretty cool effect, that you cant really see well in these shots.

You can see a little bit of Manhattan in the backround of some of these shots, and thats Aerosoft Manhattan x from FSX, that I converted into Xplane. Still some issues with it as some buildings are missing textures and there is the default Brooklyn bridge going through the Aerosoft Brooklyn bridge. I think I can fix this, but it will take a little time as Im just sinking my teeth into XP.

The Laguardia scenery, is not from FSX. That is native Xplane scenery I just bought the other day. I like it better than the Imaginsim ver I have for FSX, since it is updated to include the new control Tower and other things that have changed in the last 10 years.

The CRJ I bought is from X-Aviation. I believe its the same one that Aerosoft is selling. Its a great model. A lot of the systems are modeled with it. Its one of the most complex aircraft for Xplane , if not the most complex. sort of like the NGX is for FSX.

Dang, rain effects are one of the things I really miss in FSX. frown (Maybe Prepar3D will fix this?) That said, before I sold my copy of XPX,I tried loading a thunderstorm and XPX turned into a slide show. In about a year it'll be time for a CPU upgrade maybe then I'll revisit.

Also, Maybe you haven't played with it too much yet, but in some of the shots, there's still the "rain machine" effect, wherein it's like you're flying on a sunny day with a rain cloud right over your plane (FSX does this too). Before REX allowing me to replace the sky textures with grey, I never felt like I was flying on a "rainy" day. I'm curious how "stormy" XPX can truly get.

And yes, I spotted the CRJ on Aerosoft's site, which is where I got confused. I knew there was a CRJ floating around that was consider top-of-it's class though. Looks like a lot of fun to fly smile

Thanks Scoobe. I've been vacillating on getting Manhattan X, but your screenies have pushed me over the line. Smile2
