There is a video posted at the IC forum, showing drivable vehicles like tanks, jeeps etc for the new IL-2 series.

You tankers might want to invest now in this sim for its future potential. The map is huge, the terrain very good, and still improving. The mission builder is extensive. The possibilities are huge.

The combat flight and tank sim genres are small, with very little monies to go around to keep the developers in business long. Maybe combining the communities investment in one sim could be good for both parties. I agree its mostly a combat flight sim, but like I said the possibilities for a tankers, even ship captains are very interesting. This sim series could become a very advanced combined forces sim., that will have maps covering much of the world.

This is a new combat flight sim series, starting with IL-2 Cliffs of Dover, a Battle of Britain sim. The series will expand to the Eastern Front, Mediterranean Theater, Pacific Theater, and European Theater. It is primarily an aircombat sim, but the game engine is designed to allow for a combined forces sim. The tank detail probably won't be hard core, but this developer doesn't do features in an arcade manor either.

I know I enjoyed playing the original Red Orchestra for the tank action. I would enjoy tank action much more on the size of the IL-2 maps especially with the very good mission builder.
