Im playing "pre-order beta" since sunday and so far this game is amazing. Its not "clickfest" like World in Conflict or casual, base building strategy/RTS like R.U.S.E (previous game from Eugen). Wargame reminds me of good old Steel Panthers but in real time and with 3D graphics... I know, strange.
There are 361 cold-war units in game and they have "realistic" stats, no health bars:

Time for some screenshots from battle replay smile

NATO Task Force flanking from "GOLF" to "CHARLIE".

Leo 1A1 on the fields.

Kiowa - great recon chooper.

T-62, its crew is probably panicked, there is a morale system in game.

Aftermath.

AirCav in action.

More T-62s

Recon vehicles SPz 11-2 Kurz is spotting targets for 2 AH-1 Cobra's.

Only thing that worried me was the speed of the units and that it looked like a 'select all your units and attack' game?

Check out this video, around 1:23 you can see tanks moving, thats how it looks.

If you select all units and rush into battle you will lose.

Artillery can fire at almost every location on map, but you will need a spotter if you want your fire to be accurate. Tanks effective engagement range is around 2000 meters, best soviet SAMs can cover area up to 4000 meters. Apaches are deadly, they can engage targets from safe distance if you know how to use them.

Do tanks move right up to each other and fire? Or stay hidden and fire?

Does look great though.

Staying hidden and firing is a way to go... And using tactics like bounding overwatch wink Also, tank without stabilizer wont hit anything on the move. There are many factors that player has to take into account during the battle - ammo, experience , fuel level, terrain etc.

Reading on the official forums and people are already 'gaming' it with spamming helos on main bases immediately and wiping out the opposition to which they cannot counter without spamming AAA...

Am on the fence. See some videos and it looks great and then I see one with grouping all their units together and hammering a position, onto the next....

How have you found MP battles?

I saw a player spamming with cheap Praga AAA trucks, and that was more annoying then effective, in the end he lost Charge
Im sure there are still some balance issues in beta... But its a beta. As a fan of games like M1 Tank Platoon 2 and Achtung Panzer, I can say that there is some great potential in Wargame: EE. I was really afraid that this game will be "World in Conflict meet R.U.S.E" kind of thing, and im very suprised that its much more than that.

Interesting as I was worried it was looking like RUSE and I hated the time I played on the demo as it was an arcadey click-fest and seems to have sunk quite quickly.

Would you say you see WEE being more of an MP game than SP?
