From Aviation International News:

Kaman Helicopters’ K-Max “unmanned aerial truck” has delivered nearly 200,000 pounds of cargo since the helicopter entered service in Afghanistan with the U.S. Marine Corps on December 17. To date, two of the pilotless, heavy-lift helicopters have logged about 100 hours in the skies over Afghanistan on cargo missions.

Now that was COOL. Just bought Kmax setup for X-Plane and that copter is a bear to control. You can`t fly it like a normal
helicopter for sure. UN-manned drone heavy lift copter though, now that is really out there. thumbsup

I think it will be awhile before anyone gets on an airliner without a pilot on board.

but eventually...may be another story

Aw, c'mon, whether on-board in the cockpit or controlling from ground station, a pilot is a pilot. No need to say goodbye now. Well, at least they can post in DCS BlackShark forum that they fly something more realistic, LOL.

A pilot in the plane that is about to crash has a vested interest in resolving the problem(s) that is(are) precipitating the event.

!#$%... lost that one... hey watch my screen while I get a coffee and fill out a report.

Isn't there a vid of a Scarebus that floats on an autoland and goes all lumberjack on a stand of trees at the end of the rwy.

A pilot in a ground station lacks situational awareness, and won't be able to feel the air/turbulence (which messes me up a lot in sims).
