I just browsed through the documents folder of BMS and I must say there are quite a few .pdf files in there. I was wondering if there is any "must-read" pdfs there for the returning simmer? I know, some may say you should read all of them, but for those of us who have excuses (job, family, life, etc.), which ones do we need to pick up first?

I'm also trying to re-learn how to fly the aircraft using my old F4AF manual and just doing the canned training missions for now, but somehow I feel more lost here in BMS while I seem to remember F4AF was like holding my hand through the training process...

From what I've heard, reading the AF manual is the way to go, then the BMS manual for the differences. You've got quite a bit of stick time in the A-10, so a lot of this stuff should be fairly intuitive.

I've recently returned to F4 because of BMS 4.32 and I found the best way to relearn to fly it is to watch Krause's BMS tutorial videos.
IMHO they are great.

Cas, I personally would stay off Kraus' tutorials. I've been through a few of them and I'd rather not have to un-learn the mistakes he is "teaching"... like the "meatball" in the F-16.

Soupy, I guess what I really need is a keymap of the Falcon 4 mappings... keep pressing keys and expecting them to behave like DCS. Like the number keys instead of the F-keys for views.

Hmmm... didn't mean to be harsh, just meant that the tutorials can be confusing and misleading, so better off just reading the manuals and doing the tutorials. It's very hard having to sift through what is right and what isn't with regards to his presentation, though I do appreciate how he tries to explain stuff. I guess I was just spoiled by the quality of DCS A10 tutorials provided by the community. biggrin
