After seeing the video posted on how to start a Spit MK - I decided to try. I set everything to high. I knew I would get poor frame rates but I just wanted to do the take off and wanted to have good depth perception that detailed ground would give. Results were strange. I got frame rate that was acceptable for what I wanted to do. But I did not get a good air strip as in the movie posted.

Any ideas why. My base was Lympne.

Did you clear the cache after switching video options?

No. What I found I had to do get the options actually to go into affect was close the game down completely. I will have to search the forum on cache clearing. But would powering down the computer and bringing it back up do that?

As it is the ground on the air strip looks no better and sometimes worse than IL-1 1946 4.11

for the CACHE looks like I can just delete the folder as in
C:\Documents and Settings\Uriah\My Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\cache

Still airstrip looks no better than IL-2
