I really liked it, an interesting premise and style. It's one of those movies that when I'm flipping around on TV and it's on I watch it from whatever point it is at.

I think its biggest flaw was making the film incomplete, to make it the first part of a 2-parter that might never come.

I would be surprised if the second part is never made considering that District 9 did very well.

budget: 30 million

global box office: 210 million

It did well, but I'm not sure it did well enough.

Question: would you pay money to see a D9 sequel?

I would, but I enjoyed the first one tremendously...

I don't think I would, but then I go to so few films nowadays.

.
I definitely would and I would be shocked if a D9 sequel wasn't greenlit because the first film didn't do "well enough". By any industry measure, a film with a 30 million dollar budget making 210 million at the global box office is fantastic.

What makes NO sense to me are films like "Green Lantern" which barely made more than its 200 million dollar budget and that one already has a greenlit sequel.

Careful what you say about the other side of the moon nowadays - think about Iron Sky. wink

District 9 was a very pleasant surprise in 2009 and I really enjoyed that movie.
