I was going to recommond DI Hind / Apache as a cheap dual pit. It has a the option to network two computers via modem no less to play:

Pilot and WSO in same aircraft
Pilot and Wingman same side single mission
Deathmatch - Apache vs Hind or Hind vs. Hind when no one wants to work together!

The Hornet pit sounds fun.
