This one was completely unkown to me. I recorded it last weekend and watched it yesterday evening.
IMO a really good sci-fi movie with some gritty humour. Action is a little overblown at the end, but really fun to watch.
Highly recommended.

I really liked it, an interesting premise and style. It's one of those movies that when I'm flipping around on TV and it's on I watch it from whatever point it is at.

I think its biggest flaw was making the film incomplete, to make it the first part of a 2-parter that might never come.

The Jedi Master I would be surprised if the second part is never made considering that District 9 did very well. budget: 30 million global box office: 210 million http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=district9.htm

Question: would you pay money to see a D9 sequel?
I would, but I enjoyed the first one tremendously...

Question: would you pay money to see a D9 sequel?
.
I definitely would and I would be shocked if a D9 sequel wasn't greenlit because the first film didn't do "well enough". By any industry measure, a film with a 30 million dollar budget making 210 million at the global box office is fantastic. What makes NO sense to me are films like "Green Lantern" which barely made more than its 200 million dollar budget and that one already has a greenlit sequel.

I know I come up AGAIN like someone who lives on the other side of the moon, but this one really got under my radar, never ever even heard about it. Saw it in my TV mag with a thumbs up and recorded it. Careful what you say about the other side of the moon nowadays - think about Iron Sky. District 9 was a very pleasant surprise in 2009 and I really enjoyed that movie.

Careful what you say about the other side of the moon nowadays - think about Iron Sky. Udo Kier wants to recruit both purolator and kilosierra to be part of his elite sturmtruppen!
