How do I permanently turn off the HUD (compass bearing) in the cockpit view?
Cheers

If I can jump in on this with another question; how do you turn off or shorten the duration of the voice text at the top of the screen that pops up when the AI in the game speaks?

Thanks.

Although uncorrect, in IL-2 game HUD is meant as info lines about engine etc. appearing on right side of screen.

Since you wrote "compass", I guess you refer to heading that is in lower left corner of screen. If so, you must set a key in "Controls" menu to "Toggle Speed Bar" (e.g.: Alt B); each time you'll press this key during simulation, Speed Bar will switch from metric to british, then naval units of measure and last none.

S!

P.S.: unfortunately, there's no way to get that permanently: you shall repeat process to hitting three times set key at each and every new mission start.

Thanks Greybeard but I already knew about the ’press three times’ Speed Bar trick. I was hoping there was a way to turn all the screen info off permanently. It surprises me that a sim like this, which prides itself on realism on just about every level, doesn’t include a simple method to turning off all the info text that pops up all over the place.
Cheers

Punctum dolens, indeed.

In other words: a lie, if enough repeated, becomes truth.

Thanks RnL, but NoHudLog is already set to 1. This still doesn't stop all sorts of unwanted info popping up in various places on the screen.
sigh
